The new community of Walnut Grove in SWLA has a number of gathering spaces for passive recreation and pick-up sports for adults, but nothing yet for children. As the community grows and families move to the area, play is becoming an important element.
Charleston Park and Pally's Playground are being developed as a way to get children outside, immersed in nature, and to stretch their creative muscles. The parks will utilize planting materials, water, topographic elements, and reclaimed wood elements to engage children from preschool to early adulthood.
The parks are expected to begin construction in 3q2016.
